Foston Parish Council serves approximately 640 residents in about 230 dwellings on both sides of the A1. The Council consists of seven elected or co-opted members who serve for four years. They are volunteers who give their time freely and take their responsibilities seriously and receive no payment. The Parish Council has a paid Clerk and is a member of Lincolnshire Association of Local Councils which runs regular training sessions for Councillors and clerks and gives a voice to local councils collectively on a local and national level.
The Parish Council, on behalf of residents, owns and manages the playing field and the play equipment within and supports the interests of all residents. The Council has bi-monthly meetings and residents are welcomed at all meetings where they have an opportunity before each meeting commences to speak on any agenda item or any issue they may have. The Council liaises with other Parishes as well as South Kesteven District Council, Lincolnshire County Council and the Police in order to promote the interests of residents.
