The Society meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm. It was formed to research, record and preserve local history and artefacts of the area for future generations.
The Society has a regular programme of speakers, organises visits to place of historic interest, publishes a regular newsletter and holds exhibitions of the work produced by the project group.
The Project group is currently working on a Community Archive - a long term exercise which is producing a searchable database of photographs. The computer database was initially funded by Awards for All.
Several members are experts in local and family history and may be prepared to help with enquiries.
